Gina Peirce-Family Advocacy Program Senior Prevention Specialist
Gina Peirce is the Senior Prevention Specialist for the Family Advocacy Program (FAP), Army Community Service (ACS), Army Garrison, Hawaii. She supervises four Prevention Specialists who provide FAP education programs for ACS at Schofield Barracks and Ft. Shafter, Hawaii. Her professional interests include policy development, and research, and she has a special interest in military communities. Gina worked for the Army as an Exceptional Family Member Program Specialist, assisting families with special needs. Gina also worked as a research assistant with the University of Houston’s Office of Community Projects, where she conducted Community Needs Assessments with the United Way and Program Evaluations for an adoption agency, a counseling center, and a project to measure the quality of life for human trafficking and domestic violence survivors. As a graduate student, Gina worked for Texas Children’s Hospital, where she performed research on Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), as well as child abuse and neglect prevention and treatment methods. During her graduate experience, Gina interned with Child Protective Services to gain knowledge of state policies and procedures surrounding child abuse, neglect and foster care.
Gina graduated from the University of Houston with a Master’s of Social Work and a concentration in Policy. She is a licensed Social Worker and also has a B.A. in Sociology and Spanish from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Gina is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and also volunteers for the Army as a Family Readiness Group Leader where she received an Achievement Medal for Civilian Service.
