Bert Thornburg, B.S. - Program Manager, Healthcare Services

Bert Thornburg is the Program Manager of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) implementation services primarily for the Department of Defense, Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF). He currently oversees this program for various sized facilities throughout Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, Japan, and Korea. His largest facility employs over 850 people and the smaller ones around 170 personnel. He is a retired Air Force veteran with over 20 years of Health Care Administration experience. The majority of this experience is in Information Systems and Resource Management. He has been the Resource Advisor responsible for budget formulation, management, and execution. Mr. Thornburg is experienced in supervision and management and has graduated from the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, and the Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership School. He had been assigned to various Air Force bases in California, Texas, and Hawaii.

He is a graduate of Pearl City High School (in Hawaii), the Community College of the Air Force, and Wayland Baptist University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Education with Business Administration and specialization in Health Care Administration.
